The Helping Nature Heal motto is “Restoring the earth … restoring the soul”
Join Rosmarie Lohnes for an early morning, dewey labyrinth walk in an enlivened forest that she has lovingly restored over many years. This guided experience in the early morning light is about awakening something inside you and engaging your senses in a magical, natural setting.
Open yourself up to the magnificence of the forest, the power of the sun and the energy of universe. Imagine walking quietly on an acre of labyrinth paths in the woods as the sun is rising and a new day is gently revealing itself to you. Your shoulders drop just thinking about it. Did you know that soaking up the lush scenery, clean air, and supreme quiet of the forest at dawn can do more than refresh your mind, soothe your soul and recharge your batteries?
By helping to reduce your stress, a meditative walk in the woods has been known to lower blood pressure, and increase anti-cancer proteins in the body. Breathing in phytoncides (a class of compounds released by trees) also appears to stimulate immune activity in the body. Whatever your motivation, a guided forest walk with Rosmarie could ease you into a slower pace and don’t we all crave that?
What to Expect
The group will meet at the entrance to the forest just after dawn. We will spend a few moments to introduce ourselves and connect with one another. Before we enter the forest, we will inhale and exhale a deep breath together, letting go of our daily challenges and deeper issues, honouring the time and space we are about to share.
Rosmarie will ask you to set an intention for your sacred walk, with the aim of helping you to connect with your innermost being, to enliven your soul. Then everyone will walk in silence towards the labyrinth, separated by about ten paces to encourage an individual experience of the natural surroundings.
Once you arrive at the central meditation area, Rosmarie will guide you on a meditation walk along the sacred labyrinth paths, encouraging you to connect with your inner being, your soul, your essence. She will share her sacred practice of allowing nature to breathe new life into your soul.
You’ll expand your appreciation for the healing power of nature. You’ll glean insights into Rosmarie’s own extraordinary healing path on the labyrinth. You’ll notice how nature is responding to your presence on the land. You’ll learn to appreciate the rich diversity and phenomenal energy that reverberates as the forest awakens. You’ll breathe it all in and open your heart up to the smells of the forest, the sounds of chirping birds heralding the new day, the spectacle of light twinkling through branches. You’ll see with new insight and ultimately, you might experience the interconnectedness of all living things.
We will cycle out of the labyrinth and walk back towards the edge of this mature forest, with its enlivened understory, new plantings and pathways. You’ll take the time to ponder your intention, and share what you wish with others.
You will leave refreshed, inspired at having been in community with others seeking solace in the forest at the break of dawn. You will breathe more deeply, with peacefulness as your companion for the drive ahead.
