Environmental/Landscape Assessment and Realtor Support Services
New property owners and developments often begin by clearing land, trees and plants, before knowing what beauty and natural assets may be lost. Our expert consultants can determine ecological issues and property assets before you purchase land or construction begins.
A sophisticated landscape can increase the sale value of a home by 10-12 percent (Alex X. Niemiera, Department of Horticulture, Virginia Tech.). We can develop a plan for realtors and their clients to improve the curb appeal and resale value of any house. What can we do to help you sell your house?
Conservation Land Management Plans
This specialized service can be of great benefit to property owners, businesses, town planners, municipalities, and provincial governments. We develop strategic comprehensive management plans to suit a variety of properties and ecosystem types. Ecological forestry plans can help individuals and communities get the most safe use and environmental benefit out of their forested spaces. Living Shoreline erosion management plans can help individuals, towns, and municipalities mitigate erosion and plan for future sea level rise. Water and flood management plans such as rain gardens, drainage, riparian zone restoration are crucial in town and municipal planning.
Rosmarie is available as a guest lecturer for educational institutions and speaks annually to the Ecological Restoration class at St. Mary’s University, Halifax and the Natural Resources and Environmental Technology class at the Nova Scotia Community College, Lunenburg Campus.
We deliver a wide range of educational workshops from our Bridgewater office. Some of these include: sustainable landscape design, Living Shoreline erosion management, seed saving and propagation, dormant pruning, biodynamic gardening, and horticulture as therapy.
We also offer our clients a one-on-one Garden Mentorship Program, this program helps people gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to be self-sufficient in their own landscapes.
Another important part of our work is sharing our expertise with young people, schools, and community groups and we often work together with like-minded organizations on environmental and community food projects. We participate in local sustainability events such as the Growing Green Sustainability Festival, and volunteer our time to the Hodge Podge Community Garden and Bridgewater Edible Tree Program.
